Manual Handling

Aim

This course can be delivered at your premises and is intended for persons who may be required to lift and/or move loads in the course of their work. It is designed to comply with the provisions of the 2007 General Applications Regulations and the 2005 Safety, Health and Welfare Act.

We use the most up to date equipment and techniques, provide participants with the necessary skills and information to care for their backs using a minimal lifting policy.

Please note that this course does not cover you for moving/lifting people/patients – if you are required to move/lift people/patients you are required to attend a Patient Handling/People Moving course which we can also deliver for you.

This manual handling training course will provide all participants at work with the proper techniques when carrying, lifting, pushing, loading, and supporting items. When the course is completed participants will be able to: handle and lift loads safely, manual legislation, recognise any load that is too awkward or heavy, personal protective equipment, and much more.This course is designed to provide Employers and Managers with  an overview of their responsibilities in regard to health & safety obligations to their organisations. The course deals with a wide range of pertinent areas of interest to those responsible for driving the Health and Safety Programme in the Organisation including Health and Safety Legislation, Risk Assessment, Safety Management Systems, Active & Reactive Monitoring.
